Product Description

SS Badger - Ludington, MI carferry watercolor print by Lewis King

She is the last coal-fired operated passenger carferry on the Great Lakes.  Since 1953 the Badger had carried passengers from Ludington, MI to Manitowoc, WI.  The Badger is 410' 10" long, weighs 4,244 gross tons, can reach speeds of 18mph and can carry approximately 620 passengers, 180 automobiles, 50-60 crew members

Lewis King is a renown Michigan artist who, at one time, lived in Ludington, MI with his grandparents.  His love of nature can be seen in his work. We've watched the SS Badger come and go throughout the years and feel this watercolor captures the feeling of standing on the beach at Ludington as we welcome the Badger home.
