Product Description

Vintage 1950"s Coro Aquamarine Blue Rhinestone Necklace

Date: Early 1950’s

Designer: Coro

This beautiful vintage necklace dates to the early 1950’s and is by Coro.  Due to the great rivalry between Coro and Trifari in the early 50’s the influence of Trifari's head designer Alfred Philippe is noticeable in this piece. As an interesting historical note, the rivalry led to Trifari issuing patents on their designs and ultimately led to the use of copyright protection from 1955 onwards.  This lovely necklace is in goldtone with a fold over clasp and is decorated with clear chaton cut rhinestones and finished with beautiful open backed oval cut aquamarine blue rhinestones. The piece is signed ‘Coro’ as you will see from the detailed shot of the clasp. This is a very elegant necklace and would be perfect for adding vintage chic to your jewelry box!

Dimensions:  14.85" (37.9cm) long
Condition: Good – in nice, clean, undamaged condition with no missing stones and light wear to the goldtone on the clasp, light rubbing to the goldtone on the raised areas and slight dulling to a few of the small, clear stones. One of the blue stones has no foil backing but this is difficult to notice from the front.

Marks: Coro  - see the close up of the clasp for verification.
