Product Description

Beautiful ebony faced cufflinks marked "K24" believed to be made by the Amita Jewelry Corporation of Kyoto circa 1950.  This style of cufflink is very reminiscent of their design and style.  Damascene is a process that uses non-precious metals and inlays them with 18k or 24k gold.  This process originated in the Middle Ages and became very popular during the 15th century in Europe.  By 1936, more than 50% of the damascene items made in Japan were being exported, primarily to the United States and England.  Measures 3/4" x 3/4".
