Product Description

We are in love with this pair of hand-tooled leather chairs. They were hand crafted from the late 1880s-1910. The leather has a lovely deep, rich chocolate brown patina. The crest ridge is beautifully carved and the spindled back adds another layer of interest. The wood is in good shape and has a honey brown finish; we believe the wood is walnut. Overall the chairs are sturdy and do not wobble or feel frail. The condition issues we found were old rips to the leather on each of the seats. The rips have been repaired well and the repair areas do not lift/wiggle (we have included a picture of each of the seat repair areas for your review). There are a couple of minor leather losses at the corner of the chairs (please review the photograph provided). The only other issue is that the seat boards have been replaced; not uncommon for chairs of this age. The original leather covering was saved and reused to cover the new seat boards. As with any vintage/antique item there are minor wear spots to the leather & wood finish but nothing that structurally impacts the chair or impacts the overall look. These chairs would look beautiful as day-to-day dining chairs or as accent side chairs. Please mouse over or click on any photograph to see the condition details up close.

Each chair measures 37.5" tall from the floor to the top of the crest rail x 16.25" wide x 16" deep, floor to seat is 18" tall. Please look at the photographs to see the condition details up close.
